Diabetic neuropathy
Diabetic neuropathy is a condition that arises following damage to nerves caused by diabetes mellitus, particularly when the diabetes has been poorly controlled over a longer period of time. The high blood sugar levels associated with diabetes mellitus can damage the small blood vessels that supply blood to nerves throughout the body, which in turn damages the nerves. There are numerous symptoms of diabetic neuropathy, depending on which areas of the body are affected. Common symptoms may include pain, numbness or tingling in the extremities, problems in the digestive or urinary systems or weakness in various muscles. Complications affecting the heart and circulatory system may also arise. Depending on what areas of the body are affected, diabetic neuropathy has mild symptoms, be very painful or debilitating or in some cases lead to life-threatening complications. Therapy for diabetic neuropathy involves improving the management of diabetes and treating the symptoms.

Epilepsy
Epilespy is a disorder resulting from the generation of synchronised electrical signals in the brain which causes recurring seizures. The manifestation of epileptic seizures can vary from blank staring to severe convulsions. Many people experience a seizure during their lifetime however at least two unprovoked seizures are necessary to be diagnosed with epilepsy. Epilepsy must generally be treated as even mild seizures can be dangerous during certain activities such as driving. Therapy of epilepsy includes medications and sometimes also surgery. This usually decreases and may even eliminate the severity and frequency of the epileptic seizures.
